trm design meaty new carton

Those clever and creative guys at trm Packaging have recently developed a cunning and cost-effective new case to hold bulky contents in excess of 25kg.  Aptly entitled the BulxBox, this concept is based on a conventional 4-point glued crash lock, with additional vertical length side walls which are designed to enhance the upright compaction strength yet also give greater pack stability.

The rigidity of the BulxBox, once assembled, makes it perfect both for protecting the contents and providing ease of transportation. Jamie Earley, trm’s Senior Supply Chain Consultant, explains how this particular product is proving to be of such significance, “What’s so great about this packaging is that the maximum strength, achieved by efficient use of board, is utilised to the full. The vertical side walls give the cases significant compression strength which is vital for products in this kind of environment.” The pre-glued corners, unique to this carton, also allow a reduction in assembly time compared to the conventional hand erect alternatives; which, of course, saves customers both time and money whilst also keeping the contents well packed and protected.
